I am a physician-scientist with clinical and research interests in gastrointestinal cancers, inherited cancer syndromes and health disparities. I hold leadership positions as Director of the Center for Clinical Genetics & Genomics and as a Past-President of the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancer and a current council member of the International Society for Inherited Gastrointestinal Tumors (InSiGHT).  One particular topic of my research is racial and ethnic disparities in gastrointestinal cancer risk, and exploring host-environment interactions using human colonic organoids from diverse populations.
