Ophir Gilad
Gastroenterologist, Local Project Coordination

Ophir Gilad, MD
I am a gastroenterologist and have been a research fellow at the University of Chicago GI Cancer Risk and Prevention Clinic for the past two years. My special interest is hereditary GI malignancy syndromes and I have been engaged and spearheaded several multicenter collaborations in hereditary diffuse gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer prevention, and Lynch syndrome. I am responsible for enrolling patients into the various studies, facilitating multicenter data use agreements, planning data dictionaries, coordinating transfer of biospecimens for analysis, aiding in data entry and analyzing results. One particular topic of my research focuses on intergenerational shifts in colon cancer onset in Lynch syndrome.
